Arkansas Held Up Its End Of The Bargain

While the rest of the SEC West was crashing and burning last bowl season, Arkansas did its part with a 31-7 blasting of Texas to close the season strong. That team was built on a power running game that held on to the ball for 34 minutes a game. This time around, the Hogs had one of the nation’s most efficient passing games to go along with the ground attack, and with wins in five of the last six games, everything is clicking. Scoring 50 points or more in four of the last six games, and now healthy and rested, look out.

    Kansas State’s Bill Snyder Moment

The legendary head coach is 76 years old. He’s still a terrific coach, he can still get it done, and even though this might not have been the season the program is used to, the formula still works. But there might be the easy narrative that this could be one of the last times Snyder is on the sidelines. He already said he’ll wait until after the season to decide on what he’ll do, but just in case, don’t be shocked if this gets played up as the possible final game in a special career. It’s not going out on a limb to suggest his team will play at a higher emotional level than most teams would for a midrange bowl.
