The No. 11 Louisville Cardinals will travel to Coral Gables, Fla. to battle the No. 12 Miami Hurricanes on Saturday.

The Cardinals (22-6, 11-4 ACC) won their third in a row Wednesday night as they came away with a 67-60 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers. Louisville had a four-point lead at the half, but the two teams fought back-and-forth in the second half and found themselves tied at 58 with less than three minutes to play. That was until David Levitch canned a three-pointer to put the Cardinals in the lead for good as Louisville closed the game on a 9-2 run. The Cardinals lost the battle on the boards, 34-27, but they made up for it with 50.9 percent shooting from the field and a plus-four edge in turnovers. Louisville received a huge lift off the bench in the form of Quentin Snider, who scored a team-high 14 points and doled out seven assists in 34 minutes.

The Hurricanes (22-6, 11-4 ACC), like the Cardinals, are very much in the ACC title hunt and rebounded from an embarrassing loss to North Carolina by knocking off Virginia, 64-61, Monday night. Miami had a five-point lead at halftime and led the entire second half, but Virginia made it close at the very end. London Perrantes made a layup with six seconds remaining to cut the lead to one, and Davon Reed connected on both ensuing free throws for the ‘Canes. Perrantes’ desperation three-point heave misfired, and Miami escaped with the victory. The Hurricanes were minus-four in the rebounding battle and minus-two in turnovers, but their stellar three-point shooting proved to be key. Miami drilled 10-of-19 threes on the night for an impressive 52.9 percent clip. Reed was responsible for half of those three-pointers and finished with a team-high 21 points.

Louisville and Miami will get together for the first time this season and Saturday’s game will the 11th matchup all-time. Miami is 2-9 against Louisville and are 2-5 at home.

    Prediction

Both teams come into this one with some momentum, but the Hurricanes have played very well at home, and that gives them the edge here.

Expect the trio of Sheldon McClellan, Davon Reed and Angel Rodriguez to have Miami where it wants to be on both ends of the floor. The Canes will work its inside-out game to perfection and have the Cardinals defense guessing all day long. Louisville has the veteran leadership to test Miami at times, but the environment in the BankUnited Center and pace of play won’t be in the favor of the Cards.

    Prediction: Miami 69, Louisville 62
