Justin Wilcox is continuing to put together his initial staff at Cal.

The Golden Bears head coach is bringing in Marques Tuiasosopo as his quarterbacks coach, according to Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports.

Tuiasosopo’s role with UCLA was up in the air because new offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch will also have quarterback coaching responsibilities. The Bruins recently hired Fisch after the offense was 91st in the country last season.

Cal will be the fourth Pac-12 school in Tuiasosopo’s coaching background. The former Rose Bowl MVP and Washington quarterback became an assistant strength coach in 2009 at his alma mater after his playing career in the NFL. He moved onto UCLA in 2011 under Rick Neuheisel and was on Jim Mora’s staff as the tight ends coach in 2012 before returning to Seattle in 2013 as quarterbacks coach under Steve Sarkisian. Tuiasosopo was named interim head coach for Washington’s bowl game after Sarkisian accepted the head-coaching gig at USC at the end of the 2013 regular season. After leading the Huskies to a win in the Fight Hunger Bowl, Tuiasosopo joined Sarkisian’s staff at USC as tight ends coach and associate head coach. Last January, he accepted the job as quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator at UCLA.

The East Bay is familiar terrain for the former QB, as he spent the 2001-2006 and 2008 seasons with the Oakland Raiders.

Tuiasosopo is a nice addition for Wilcox because he is very familiar and well-versed in the Pac-12 recruiting scene, and he has had success working with notable signal-callers Cody Kessler and Josh Rosen. He was also a big part in helping the Trojans put together their strong 2015 recruiting class.
