Marvin Wilson Unveils Top 5 Schools

Five-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson has his eyes set on five schools.

And then there were five for Hollywood Marv. Marvin Wilson, the nation’s No. 1 defensive tackle out of Bellaire, Texas, unveiled his tops schools on Tuesday, turning heads with one of the teams making the cut – South Florida.

Wilson was previously recruited by Charlie Strong at Texas, and that relationship has apparently given the Bulls a shot, albeit an outside one, at landing the coveted five-star recruit.

In addition to USF, the four other finalists are Florida State, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma. Wilson will announce his decision between the five on National Signing Day, which is Wednesday, February 1.

The frontrunners heading into the home stretch of Wilson’s recruitment are LSU and Ohio State. Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron is Wilson’s main recruiter for LSU, while Buckeyes defensive line coach Larry Johnson is handling the lead for Ohio State.

Wilson has an official visit (OV) to Baton Rouge planned for January 13. Prior to that, he took an OV to Columbus for Ohio State’s matchup against Michigan.

He also used official visits during the 2016 season for Oklahoma (Sept. 17) and Florida State (Oct. 28), and unofficially visited LSU in late October as well.

Wilson is listed at 6-foot-4 and 329 pounds, and is the type of talent who can make an immediate impact at the next level. He’s packed with power and is explosive off the ball.

Scout.com ranks Wilson as the No. 11 overall recruit for the 2017 class.
