    Why You Need To Care

No. 6 Maryland is sporting a 9-1 record as it comes into this matchup. The Terrapins are led by one of the nation’s top point guards, Melo Trimble, and are looking to extend their winning streak to four games.

The Terps started out the season with six straight wins before they ran into the North Carolina Tar Heels in Marcus Paige’s return from a broken hand. Aside from that game, Maryland has been extremely tough to beat.

And it will probably end up with its 10th win after taking on the Princeton Tigers, who are coming into this one with a 6-2 record. Although the Tigers have won back-to-back games, taking down Lipscomb and Liberty this past week.

    Why Maryland Will Win

Trimble has to lead the way. He has to be the catalyst. So far, he’s been everything Maryland fans could have hoped for. And all signs point toward him doing it again. But on top of actually scoring the basketball, Trimble has to get some penetration and find guys like Rasheed Sulaimon on the perimeter and Diamond Stone down low. And defensively, the Terps have to keep the Tigers off the foul line and make plays in the open floor when they get into transition.

    Why Princeton Will Win

If Henry Caruso doesn’t have the game of his life, it’s going to be a very, very long night for the Tigers. Caruso is averaging 18.5 points per game on 58 percent shooting, and he’s also leading the team with eight rebounds per game. Caruso will have to do it all and use the threat of the three to open everything else up. He’s hit 9-of-18 from behind the arc this season. If the Tigers get to the foul line and force Trimble into some difficult jumpers, then they might have a chance.

    What’s Going To Happen?

Trimble is going to get buckets however and whenever he pleases. Caruso will put up respectable numbers in the scoring and rebounding columns, but the Tigers won’t hang with the Terps for very long. Sulaimon will share the scoring duties with Trimble and hang double digits on Princeton. Stone will block a couple of shots, clean up on the glass and serve as a putback artist for Maryland. The Terps will get a sizable lead going into halftime and never look back.
