    Why You Need To Care

This should be just another win placed delicately on a tee for the No. 2-ranked Maryland Terrapins.

Maryland (6-1) is coming off an 89-81 loss to North Carolina on Tuesday, so you know the Terrapins are going to come out firing and looking to let off a little steam. It just so happens the Saint Francis (PA) Red Flash were next on the list.

Saint Francis is 3-3 on the season, and its last time out ended with an 84-73 victory against Lehigh, so at least there’s that.

The Red Flash gives up as many points (71.3) as it scores per game (71.5), and it’s headed to College Park, Md. to face a Terps squad dropping 77.7 points and allowing 66.6 points per game.

This is what we call a wipe-the-slate-clean game. The Terps certainly need it after being bested by UNC.

    Why Maryland Will Win

If you’re sitting in the first few rows at the XFINITY Center, break out your ponchos because you’re in Melo Trimble’s splash zone. The sophomore guard has been lighting teams up with 52.2 percent shooting to average 16 points per game. He’s also been getting his teammates involved with 5.6 assists per game. With Trimble leading the way, Rasheed Sulaimon and Jake Layman will pour in their usual point contributions to take the win.

    Why Saint Francis Will Win

The Terps are committing 13.6 turnovers per game, which is a lot for the No. 2 team in the nation. The Red Flash has to take advantage of that and win the turnover battle if it has any hope of winning this game. Ben Millaud-Meunier, Greg Brown, Isaiah Blackmon and Ronnie Drinnon need to take their combined scoring average of 48.5 points per game and go all out in this one. They’ll all need to contribute to have a shot.

    What’s Going To Happen?

Never doubt Trimble in games like this. He’s going to torch the Red Flash for whatever he decides he wants his stat line to look like. Maryland will bring that turnover average down a little bit and lock down on defense, too. The Terps are looking at a 20-plus-point victory here.
