Miami (Fla.) will go toe-to-toe with Wichita State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Shockers will face the Hurricanes for their seventh matchup against a Power Five program this season.

Head coach Gregg Marshall has taken Wichita State to its fifth straight NCAA tourney. After taking down Vanderbilt, 70-50, in a play-in game, the No. 11-seeded Shockers handled their business against No. 6 Arizona in the first round, 65-55.

Making their first March Madness appearance since the 2012-13 season, the Hurricanes sported a 25-7 regular-season record entering their meeting with No. 14-seeded Buffalo and advanced to the second round with a 79-72 victory.

Here’s a look at the Campus Insiders Miami vs. Wichita State picks.

    Shae Peppler

Dare I say Witicha State? I had Buffalo upsetting Miami, and I know they are the sexy pick (thanks Pitbull), but Wichita State handled Arizona with such ease, you have to believe that defensive effort can continue against the Hurricanes.

    Ken Bikoff

Wichita State doesn’t have the athleticism of Miami, but the Shockers feature the best point guard and plenty of experience. This one will be tough, but the Shockers move on.

    Jordan Cornette

Miami’s backcourt is as special as any in the dance, and it’s playing great basketball. “The U” will dictate tempo and play at too fast of a pace for the Shockers.
