    1. Michigan State got up 17-0 in the first half, but it was a fight. The Spartans got a six-yard Madre London touchdown run and a five-yard score form Josiah Price, but the offense fell flat in the second half.

    2. Central Michigan got two field goals blocked, but pulled within seven on a one-yard Anthony Rice run and a 42-yard Brian Eavey field goal.

    3. Michigan State pulled away in the fourth on two Gerald Holmes scoring runs from three and six yards out.

    – Shilique Calhoun made six tackles, 2.5 sacks broke up pass, blocked a field goal, and came up with four quarterback hurries.

    – Connor Cook completed 11-of-19 passes for 143 yards and a score. Madre London ran 15 times for 73 yards and a score.

    – Star tight end Josiah Price left the game and was on crutches, and offensive tackle Jack Conklin left the game with what looked like a knee injury.

    Central Michigan

    – Cooper Rush completed 26-of-39 passes for 285 yards and a score.

    – Devon Spalding ran 15 times for 77 yards. Anthony Rice caught eight passes for 78 yards and a score.
