Why North Texas Will Win

The Mean Green has long been out of the postseason chase, but the team has shown a lot of heart since Mike Canales became the interim head coach on Oct. 11. North Texas played respectably in Knoxville last week, allowing just 24 points to the Vols, and the backfield of QB DaMarcus Smith and RB Jeffrey Wilson will give Middle Tennessee problems on the ground.

Why Middle Tennessee Will Win

The Blue Raiders are heating up, one win away from bowl eligibility and not about to be denied by one of the worst teams in the league. North Texas’ defensive effort last week was an anomaly in a year when it’s allowing 43 points per game. Middle Tennessee will pepper the Mean Green with Shane Tucker on the ground and Brent Stockstill to Richie James through the air.

What’s Going To Happen?

Now that Middle Tennessee is playing up to its potential, it might not lose another game this season. The offense will click with balance on Saturday, while the defense contains one-note North Texas in an easy win.
