Report: Five-Star Center Mitchell Robinson Commits To Western Kentucky

Five-star center Mitchell Robinson has reportedly commited to Western Kentucky.

Rick Stansbury’s tenure at Western Kentucky could not have gotten off to a better start.

Mitchell Robinson, a 5-star center and the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2017 class, has reportedly committed to the Hilltoppers.

This comes as a huge surprise considering 5-star recruits traditionally focus their decision around college basketball’s elite programs. However, it’s important to remember that prior to his time at WKU, Stansbury heavily recruited Robinson while he was an assistant coach at Texas A&M.

While with the Aggies, Stansbury clearly developed a great relationship with Robinson – so much so that the new WKU skipper was able to convince the elite big man to follow him to the Hilltoppers. That’s a remarkable accomplishment that speaks volumes to Stansbury’s recruiting abilities.

Along with Texas A&M, Robinson also had an offer from LSU and was receiving interest from Kentucky.
