NCAA Tournament Projections As of Feb. 28

Before I outline our upcoming Mock Selection event, let’s look at the crazy weekend we just saw in college hoops.

It has never happened before.

The top-six teams in the polls all lost. And with No. 9 Texas Tech dropping a game as well, it would be easy to expect that there would be a lot of movement at the top of this week’s bracket. Well, nothing could be further from the truth.

Remember, a seed list and bracket aren’t polls. Just because a team sitting at the No. 4 overall spot loses, it does not mean that they will automatically be jumped. One game doesn’t make a resume, and bracketologists always need to be careful to not overreact to one win or one loss.

That being said, things have tightened up all over the bracket. Teams from the three-line to the five-line are incredibly close, and the bubble currently has six teams battling for three spots — and there is little that separates these six. This week will be so important for many teams and with a full slate of games, there should be some exciting hoops.

Don’t forget our Mock Selection Committee convenes this Thursday at 7 p.m. EST. We will reveal the teams that made the cut in the first ballot and begin the process of filling out the field. Session two begins at 4 p.m. on Friday and we will fill out the field, before eventually wrapping up things across Saturday and Sunday, with our selection show going live on Zoom at 6 p.m. EST on Sunday.

Follow us on Twitter, and we will post all the links so that you can register for this exciting event. I cannot wait to interact with all of you beginning Thursday!
