Oct. 18 Kansas State 31, at Oklahoma 30 
And You Care Because … Kansas State got two touchdown passes and a four-yard scoring run from Jake Waters, and the defense bent but held on as Trevor Knight threw three touchdown passes including two in the second half and a 47-yarder to Sterling Shepard in the second. Waters answered a Samaje Perine two-yard touchdown run with a 62-yard touchdown pass to Glenn Gronkowski to tie it in the first, and then the KSU defense got into the action with Denzel McDaniel returning an interception for a score. The two teams traded scores the whole way with neither one up by more than one score, but after Knight found Durron Neal for a nine-yard score early in the fourth, the extra point was blocked and the score stayed 31-30 the rest of the way. 
What Else? Kansas State QB Jake Waters completed 15-of-23 passes for 225 yards and two scores, and ran ten times for 51 yards and a touchdown 
– Oklahoma QB Trevor Knight completed 26-of-32 passes for 318 yards and three touchdowns with a pick, and ran six times for 17 yards 
– Kansas State LB Jonathan Truman made 17 tackles with a tackle for loss 
– Oklahoma WR Sterling Shepard caught 15 passes for 197 yards and a score, and Kansas State WR Tyler Lockett caught six passes for 86 yards and a score

Oct. 18 at Texas 48, Iowa State 45 
And You Care Because … A crazy ride was ended with a wild final two minutes. Texas PK Nick Rose hit a 21-yard field goal with three seconds to play, but 25 seconds earlier, Iowa State tied the game on an 11-yard E.J. Bibbs run. Tyrone Swoopes threw two long passes to go 68 yards in 25 seconds for the Longhorn win, but that was needed because the defense couldn’t hold the Cyclones after Malcolm Brown ran for a four-yard score with just over a minute to play. Brown scored twice, while Iowa State got two Sam Richardson touchdown passes including an eight-yarder to Allen Lazard, along with a 51-yard fumble return for a touchdown from Jevon Miller. The Cyclones went on a 21-point run in the first half, but the Longhorns took the lead back with a Swoopes touchdown run and a 74-yard pick six from Dylan Haines. The two teams traded punches the rest of the way, with both of Brown’s touchdowns coming in the fourth. 
What Else? Texas QB Tyrone Swoopes completed 24-of- 36 passes for 321 yards and a touchdown with an interception, and he ran 14 times for a team-leading 95 yards and a score 
– Iowa State QB Sam Richardson completed 36-of-55 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns with two picks 
-Texas WR John Harris caught nine passes for 147 yards 
– Total yards: Iowa State 534 – Texas 512

Oct. 18 at West Virginia 41, Baylor 27 
And You Care Because … There wasn’t a late comeback this time week for Baylor, as West Virginia broke a 27-27 tie with 14 unanswered points on two of Clint Trickett’s three touchdown passes hitting Kevin White from 12 yards out and Mario Alford for a 39-yard pass play. Baylor was held to two Chris Callahan field goals and kept Bryce Petty to two touchdown passes to Antwan Goodley and Corey Coleman, and Shock Linwood ran for a score to tie it up late in the third, but that would be it for the Bear offense. WVU’s Josh Lambert hit a 54-yard field goal at the end of the first half and a 24-yarder in the third. 
What Else? Penalties: Baylor 18 for 185 yards – West Virginia 14 for 138 yards 
– West Virginia QB Clint Trickett completed 23-of-35 passes for 322 yards and three scores with a pick 
– Baylor QB Bryce Petty completed 16-of-36 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns 
– West Virginia WR Kevin White caught eight passes for 132 yards and two scores, and Baylor WR Antwan Goodley caught nine passes for 132 yards and a score

Oct. 18 at Texas Tech 34, Kansas 21 
And You Care Because … Texas Tech got up 17-0 helped by two of Davis Webb’s three touchdown passes, but Kansas, helped by a few Webb mistakes, fought back with Michael Cummings throwing two touchdown passes and running for another to pull within six going into the fourth. The Red Raiders were able to stay ahead for good on a 21-yard Justin Stockton run early in the fourth. 
What Else? Texas Tech QB Davis Webb completed 28-of-44 passes for 288 yards and three touchdowns with a pick
– Kansas QB Michael Cummings completed 20-of-32 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns with an interception, and ran 11 times for 20 yards and a score 
– Total yards: Texas Tech 507 – Kansas 363 
– Texas Tech RB DeAndre Washington ran 23 times for 164 yards, and caught two passes for 21 yards

Oct. 18 at TCU 42, Oklahoma State 9 
And You Care Because … TCU’s offense cranked up close to 700 yards of offense with B.J. Catalon running for scores from 34 and 35 yards out, and Josh Doctson catching an 84-yard touchdown pass. Oklahoma State could only managed three Ben Grogan field goals, all in the first half, and TCU scored 21 unanswered points including a 22-yard Deante Gray catch and a four-yard Aaron Green run. 
What Else? Total yards: TCU 676 – Oklahoma State 258 
– TCU QB Trevone Boykin completed 26-of-39 passes for 410 yards and three touchdowns with an interception 
– Oklahoma State QB Daxx Garman completed 10-of-25 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns 
– TCU WR Josh Doctson caught seven passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns
