NCAA Men’s Basketball AP Top 25 Rankings – Week 3

The men’s basketball Week 3 AP Poll has been released. Kentucky has taken the top spot after Duke’s loss in a thriller to Kansas.

Welcome back to the top spot, John Calipari.

The Week 3 AP Poll has been released, and the Kentucky Wildcats are right back in that oh-so-familiar No. 1 spot, though this is Kentucky’s first time atop the polls in the 2016-17 season.

After coming up short in a thriller against Kansas, Duke fell from the No. 1 spot to No. 6. The Jayhawks, meanwhile, moved up two spots to No. 5. Villanova now sits at No. 2 in the nation and Indiana occupies the No. 3 slot, an impressive boost from their No. 6 ranking in Week 2.

The three biggest downgrades come from Oregon, Wisconsin and Michigan State. The Ducks have tumbled nine spots down after a road loss to the Baylor Bears. The Badgers, previously No. 9, now sit at No. 16 and the Spartans, previously No. 13, have fallen to No. 24.

After taking down Wisconsin, the Creighton Bluejays were rewarded with the biggest upgrade, leaping from No. 22 to No. 12.

Baylor and Michigan are the only newcomers to this week’s rankings, sitting at the Nos. 20 and 25 spots, respectively.
