4-Star QB Artur Sitkowski Transferring To IMG Academy

Four-star quarterback Artur Sitkowski is transferring to the IMG Academy for his senior season.

One of the nation’s top quarterbacks in the 2018 recruiting class is making a move.

Artur Sitkowski, from Old Bridge, New Jersey, is transferring to the IMG Academy, where he’ll play his senior season.

Sitkowski, the No. 12 quarterback and No. 107 overall player in the 2018 cycle, holds offers from Florida, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State and others.

He released a statement regarding his decision.

“Today, I made one of the hardest decisions in my life to leave my family and friends to finish my high school career at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. I want to thank Old Bridge High School’s administration, teachers, and staff for [an] unforgettable three years. Thank you, Coach Lanzafama and your staff for shaping me into the player and person I am today. To the Old Bridge community, thank you for the countless support through the years. I will always be an Old Bridge kid and [will] never forget where I came from. And to my teammates, I would not be in the position I am today without you guys. I will never forget you guys and will cherish our memories forever. I am excited for the new opportunity and ready to get to work. Thank you!”

The move to IMG could pay dividends for the Gators, who have made the talented quarterback a top priority in their 2018 class. Florida currently stands as the favorite to land Sitkowski’s commitment, as he has already camped in Gainesville and developed a solid relationship with the coaching staff.

Further emphasizing Sitkowski’s importance is that he could help the Gators build better relationships with the blue-chip prospects that IMG produces on an annual basis – a program that currently has deep ties with Florida’s chief in-state rival, FSU.

Florida is in play for 4-star offensive guard Curtis Dunlap and 4-star offensive tackle Reuben Unije. So, getting Sitkowski to commit early could help Jim McElwain’s staff build a bridge from Bradenton to Gainesville for future classes as well as the 2018 group.
