5-Star OT Calvin Ashley ‘110% Committed’ To Auburn

Longtime Auburn 5-star commitment Calvin Ashley confirms that he is still planning on signing with the Tigers despite rumors.

Five-star offensive tackle prospect Calvin Ashley wants fans to know one thing: he is still committed to Auburn and nothing will change his mind as National Signing Day approaches.

With a report appearing on Inside MD Sports Thursday morning that Ashley would be decommiting from the Tigers, Ashley took to Twitter to put the rumors to rest.

Ashley has been committed to Auburn and head coach Gus Malzahn since May 30, 2015, and is a key part of what the Tigers hope will be a top recruiting class. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound prospect out of Washington, DC is ranked the 33rd overall player in the 2017 class while coming in at No. 7 for offensive tackles.

At Auburn, Ashley will join a veteran offensive line that will return three starters and will be in charge of protecting incoming JUCO transfer quarterback Jarrett Stidham. It will also be tasked with opening holes for SEC leading rusher Kam Pettway in an offense that relies heavily on the running game. The Tigers rushing attack finished No. 6 in the nation this past season, averaging 271.31 yards per game on the ground.
