3-Star RB Christian Turner Commits To Michigan Wolverines

Three-star running back Christian Turner committed to Michigan on Monday night, giving the Wolverines five total commits in the 2018 recruiting class.

Jim Harbaugh worked his way into the Peach State during the 2017 recruiting class when he landed 5-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon. Now, the head coach of the Wolverines is dipping into the state of Georgia for the 2018 cycle as well.

On Monday night, 3-star prospect Christian Turner committed to Michigan, giving the Wolverines five total commits. They currently sit at No. 13 in the 2018 recruiting class rankings.

Turner, a native of Buford, Georgia, chose Michigan despite holding additional offers from Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, among others.

Ranked as the No. 72 running back in the country and the No. 3 running back in the state, Turner released a statement regarding his commitment.

“First, I want to thank God for all the opportunities and blessings he has paved before me. Next, I would like to thank my family and coaches who have poured into me over the years. I would also like to thank all the coaches who have given me a full scholarship and opportunity to play for their school. The relationships I have built with these coaches have made this a tough decision to make. With lots of prayer and thought, I believe that the right decision has been made. With that, I would like to announce my commitment to the University of Michigan.”

The 5-foot-11, 187-pound tailback runs with terrific vision and will routinely put it on display when defenders over pursue. He has good balance and will break through arm tackles with ease — a very strong runner.
