Ex-Clemson DT Scott Pagano Narrows List To Oklahoma And Oregon

Former Clemson defensive lineman Scott Pagano is near a decision on his new home. The graduate transfer will either play for Oklahoma or Oregon.

Scott Pagano won a national championship at Clemson, and now he’s almost ready to compete for one at another school.

The former Tiger, who is leaving the two-time ACC champions as a grad transfer, has narrowed his choices down to either Oklahoma or Oregon. The defensive tackle made the decision to move on from Clemson roughly two months ago.

Pagano informed the South Bend Tribune that he will decide between the Sooners and Ducks, with the decision coming sometime on Friday.

The 6-foot-3, 279-pound Hawaii native officially visited Arkansas, Notre Dame and Texas, while Cal and Nebraska were also a part of the process. But Pagano’s official visits to both Oklahoma and Oregon clearly went better than the others.

Pagano will be immediately eligible as a graduate transfer, with the 2017 season being his final year of eligibility. The former four-star 2013 recruit, who had 50 offers coming out of the prep ranks, started 13 games the past two seasons for the Tigers, with four of them coming in 2016. He graduated from Clemson in December after recording 31 tackles and two sacks in 12 games for Dabo Swinney’s national champions. A broken bone in his foot shelved him for three games in the title season.

Pagano played behind stars Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence with the Tigers, but he will get his chance to shine with either the Sooners or Ducks, improving his NFL Draft stock along the way.
