College Football News Roundup – November 28

A college football news roundup that includes Alabama Nick Saban commenting on offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin and Clemson head coach discussing allegations of a player using racial slurs.

My nephews are at the age where they don’t feel the need to text their 35-year-old uncle back regarding what they want for Christmas. They are teenagers, so they have way more important things going on like, well, I’m not sure what teenagers do these days. Snapchat? Instagram? Yeah, I am way behind on the times. Moral of the story: text your uncle back. You might have to take care of him one day.

In college football, Tom Herman is now in charge at Texas and faces high expectations, LSU hired Ed Orgeron after his successful stint as the interim, and we take a look at some takeaways from the latest AP Poll. Here are some other newsworthy notes in the latest college football news roundup.

Kiffin On The Move? – It is no secret that Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin and LSU head coach Ed Orgeron are good friends, so it is of little surprise that Orgeron would go after Kiffin to become the Tigers offensive coordinator.

Kiffin’s current boss, Nick Saban, isn’t aware of any talks.

“I don’t know anything about that,” Saban said. “He hasn’t come to me about it, and I’m sure he would.”

If it does come to fruition, I would seriously pay to be a fly on the wall during that Kiffin-Saban meeting.

Nothing To See Here – After a Clemson player was accused by a South Carolina player of using racial slurs during a pregame scuffle, Tigers coach Dabo Swinney stated that his player has told him that the allegations are erroneous.

”I believe my guys,” Swinney said. ”That’s all there is to say about it.”

Happy Holidays, You’re Fired – Both San Jose State and Nevada will be looking for new head coaches after firing the men in charge of their respective programs. The Spartans dismissed Ron Caragher after four seasons in which he went 19-30, while the Wolf Pack and Brian Polian “mutually decided to part ways” after four seasons in which Nevada went 23-27.
