Campus Insiders’ Power Five College Football Recruiters Of The Year

The 2017 recruiting class was wrapped up on Wednesday with National Signing Day, and Campus Insiders has decided to hand out awards to the top recruiter in each of the Power Five conferences.

The 2017 recruiting class has finally come to an end, and it was a successful cycle for many teams across the Power Five conferences.

While the Big Ten and SEC took up most of the spots within the top 10 classes, the Big 12 and Pac-12 each held their ground throughout the rest of the nation’s top recruiting hauls.

However, we wouldn’t be doing justice to college football recruiting if we didn’t recognize the coaches who put in the long nights and endless hours of work on the recruiting trail to help their teams stock up on talented football players.

Here are the Campus Insiders college football recruiters of the year for the Power Five.

Power Five Recruiters Of The Year

ACC

Jay Graham, Florida State RB Coach

This one was difficult because Odell Haggins did an incredible job of landing Marvin Wilson and Joshua Kaindoh. Even Clemson’s Jeff Scott came extremely close to winning the award. But when considering FSU is losing the best running back in program history in Dalvin Cook, Jay Graham stepped up and delivered both Cam Akers and Khalan Laborn. Plus, he helped flip Hamsah Nasirildeen from South Carolina and beat out Georgia for Leonard Warner.

Big 12

Cale Gundy, Oklahoma Assistant HC/Inside WR Coach/Recruiting Coordinator

Now, this one was fairly easy. Oklahoma clearly had the best recruiting class within the Big 12, and Cale Gundy was at the heart of that effort. He landed Robert Barnes, Charleston Rambo, Kennedy Brooks, Grant Calcaterra, CeeDee Lamb, Justin Broiles, etc. The list goes on and on. He did an unbelievable job for the Sooners this past season.

Big Ten

Chris Partridge, Michigan LB Coach

Chris Partridge is ridiculous, and I mean that in the best of terms. I don’t quite know how he was able to rattle off one commitment after another, but he did it. He got Aubrey Solomon back into the class on National Signing Day. That was huge. He managed to land both Cesar Ruiz and Jordan Anthony out of the IMG Academy. He picked up Corey Malone-Hatcher, Luiji Vilain and even helped secure Oliver Martin toward the end of the cycle. He owned the recruiting trail.

Pac-12

Tee Martin, USC OC

The Trojans were the hottest team on the recruiting trail toward the end and were the biggest winners on National Signing Day. Tee Martin lit it up with commitments from Joseph Lewis and Greg Johnson on Wednesday, but he’s been working the phones for awhile. He got Stephen Carr into the class and kept him there, which didn’t always seem to be a lock. He flipped Jack Sears from Duke, and he even helped on the defensive side of the ball by recruiting Hunter Echols. Martin did it all.

SEC

Tosh Lupoi, Alabama LB Coach

If you want to talk about stud recruiters, Tosh Lupoi’s name is guaranteed to be in the conversation. He was at the helm of landing three of the Crimson Tide’s most notable signees. He used his Pac-12 roots to get Najee Harris. He capitalized on Les Miles’ firing and scooped up Dylan Moses. He went out to Hawaii and brought Tua Tagovailoa to Tuscalooa. He even tacked on Chris Allen to an already elite linebacking group. It was quite the performance from Lupoi this past season.
