Deandre Baker Sidelined With Injury For Vanderbilt Game

Cornerback Deandre Baker is sidelined with an injury for the Vanderbilt game.

The Georgia Bulldogs will be without sophomore cornerback Deandre Baker for Saturday’s home game against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Baker suffered an injury of which the exact details are unknown.

According to Seth Emerson of DawgNation.com, Baker was spotted in Georgia’s Dawg Walk wearing a cast on his right foot and walking with crutches.

Baker entered the season as a backup, but eventually took over the starting roll from Juwuan Briscoe, who was demoted prior to the Tennessee game.

Baker has accounted for 13 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 1 pass deflection in six games of action this season.

The loss of Baker is not ideal, as Georgia’s pass defense has been porous, ranking No. 93 in the nation. The Bulldogs are allowing 248.5 yards per game through the air and have given up 11 passing touchdowns.
