Projecting Where 4-Star RB Eno Benjamin Will Commit

Four-star running back Eno Benjamin will commit to the school of his choice on January 7 at the Army All-American Bowl. The Campus Insiders staff gave its predictions on where the No. 2 running back out of Texas will end up.

I originally thought the Longhorns’ additions of tailbacks Toneil Carter Jr. and Daniel Young wouldn’t have a big impact on Eno Benjamin, but it appears it might. Baylor has surged in his recruitment and is now seriously being considered. With Arizona State being the only other major player, I’m still going to stick with my pick of Texas. Tom Herman brought in Tim Beck from Ohio State, and once Benjamin chats with Beck and hears all the stories about Ezekiel Elliott and Mike Weber, he’ll decide to head to Austin.

Tom Herman’s history recruiting Benjamin should be enough to get the running back to Austin. Herman wanted Benjamin at Houston then dished an offer right when he arrived at Texas. Benjamin’s commitment to Iowa seemed strange from the get-go and he’s listened to other suitors all along. Herman wins the battle for him in the end.

The Texas native seems like a logical fit for the Longhorns. Benjamin was always looking for an offer from Austin, and that’s exactly what happened when the ‘Horns brought in Tom Herman. A former Iowa commit, Benjamin generated interest from Charlie Strong, but never received an offer from the old Texas staff. He was recruited by Herman and his staff at Houston, so landing in Austin seems inevitable for the early enrollee.

If Tom Herman doesn’t land this guy, he should immediately be fired. Okay, maybe that’s a big aggressive, but this should be an easy get for the new Longhorns head coach. The fact D’Onta Foreman left Austin early for the pros could be a major factor in Benjamin’s decision as he could come in and compete for early playing time.
