Florida Gators Injury Report Heading Into LSU Game Is Extensive

The Florida Gators injury report heading into the LSU game is very extensive.

The Florida Gators are ramping up for the upcoming matchup against LSU, their most important game of the year thus far, but are doing so without a plethora of starters.

During his weekly press conference on Monday, head coach Jim McElwain ran down the lenghty injury report. In total, nine starters are out.

LB Alex Anzalone – Arm
DE Bryan Cox Jr. – Leg
C Cam Dillard – Knee
DE/DT CeCe Jefferson – Foot
WR C.J. Worton – Ankle
OL David Sharpe – Leg
LB Jarrad Davis – Ankle
QB Luke Del Rio – Shoulder
S Marcus Maye – Arm
RB Mark Herndon – Undisclosed
OL Tyler Jordan – Ankle

Anzalone, Dillard and Maye are done for the season.

Depending on progress, Jefferson and Jordan may be available for the LSU game.

If the Gators are going to clinch an SEC Championship berth on their own this weekend – UF is headed to Atlanta with a win over LSU or if Tennessee loses one of its two remaining conference games – they’re going to have to rely on several young players to fill the holes left. The good news is that the offensive line, despite the losses, played one of its best games against South Carolina this past weekend. The bad news is that LSU’s offense has caught fire, and stopping running backs Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice was already a tall enough task with fully healthy roster.
