Former Baylor QB Jarrett Stidham Transfers To Auburn

Former five-star prospect and Baylor quarterback Jarrett Stidham announced Saturday that he will transfer to Auburn for next season.

Auburn and head coach Gus Malzahn have their man.

Jarrett Stidham, the highly touted transfer out of Baylor, announced his commitment to the Tigers on Saturday evening on Twitter after months of speculation on where the former five-star prospect would end up.

Auburn has been the front-runner for Stidham since the quarterback’s first visit before the season. Stidham also was at Jordan-Hare Stadium for the Tigers’ opener against Clemson and then in November.

Stidham will be the presumable favorite to take over the Auburn offense next season. His experience in a high tempo, read option offense at Baylor that is similar to what Malzahn and the Tigers run will make him a major threat with an unit that will return most of its starters in 2017.

In 2015, Stidham threw for 1,265 yards and 12 touchdowns for Baylor before being injured. He decided to transfer from the Beats program due to the ongoing scandal involving the Baylor program and the firing of head coach Art Briles.

Texas A&M and Florida were also interested in Stidham.
