Four-Star DT Fred Hansard Flips Commitment From Florida To Penn State

Four-star defensive tackle Fred Hansard has flipped his college commitment.

The Penn State Nittany Lions are on a roll. A day after punching their ticket to the Big Ten title game, the Nittany Lions scored another big victory.

On Sunday, four-star defensive tackle Fred Hansard flipped his commitment from Florida to Penn State.

Hansard was in attendance for Penn State’s 45-12 win over Michigan State on Saturday. He was also in Happy Valley on Nov. 5 for the Nittany Lions’ game against Iowa, a 41-14 win.

Hansard, out of Princeton, New Jersey, is listed at 6-foot-3 and 306 pounds. He’s ranked as the nation’s No. 17 and New Jersey’s No. 1 defensive tackle.

He had originally committed to Florida on August 26.

Hansard is the 15th commit in Penn State’s 2017 recruiting class, and first defensive tackle. He is the third defensive lineman to pledge to the Nittany Lions, joining four-star defensive ends Yetur Matos and Damion Barber.
