An FSU football recruiting update as of October 9, 2016
Make that seven wins in a row for the Seminoles over their ACC and state rival. Florida State took down Miami on Saturday, 20-19, and it was a statement for Jimbo Fisher’s team in front of some big-time recruits.
Five-star offensive guard Tedarrell Slaton was in attendance, but he wasn’t alone. There were plenty of uncommitted prospects from the 2018 and 2019 recruiting classes on hand to see the ‘Noles win via a blocked extra point.
Big-name recruits like 5-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. (2018), 4-star running back Lorenzo Lingard (2018), 4-star wide receiver Mark Pope (2018), and 4-star running back Kenny McIntosh (2019) headlined the recruits who had front row seats at the ACC rivalry.
Next, FSU will welcome Wake Forest to Doak Campbell before a bye week, but the big recruiting weekend will come the week after that bye — days before Halloween. The Seminoles will host the Clemson Tigers, but they’ll also be hosting names like 5-star linebacker Baron Browning, 5-star offensive tackle Walker Little and 4-star linebacker Willie Gay.
This win over Miami could carry the ‘Noles for the next couple of weeks — both on the recruiting trail and off it.
