Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton hit his 47th home of run of the season in a 9-8 win over the Phillies.
Giancarlo Stanton just can’t stop.
On Thursday, the Marlins slugger hit his league-leading 47th home run of the season, which also happened to be his hardest-hit home run of the season (115.7 mph, per Statcast).
His 47 homers are the most by a National League player before September since Ryan Howard had 49 in 2006. He has 14 home runs in August, 26 in his last 43 games, and seven total against the Phillies this season (the most against any opponent).
Stanton currently has 100 RBIs on the season and is on pace to hit 60 homers.
