4-Star OG Henry Bainivalu Commits To Washington Huskies

Four-star offensive guard Henry Bainivalu committed to Washington on Sunday, giving the Huskies 14 commits in the 2017 class.

Saturday night didn’t end the way Chris Petersen wanted. The Huskies potentially saw their College Football Playoff dream washed away thanks to a 26-13 loss to USC.

But Sunday yielded some good news on the recruiting trail.

Four-star prospect Henry Bainivalu committed to Washington, giving the Huskies 14 total commits in the 2017 recruiting class. Petersen’s team now ranks No. 13 in the recruiting class rankings — the highest-ranked Pac-12 team.

Bainivalu, the No. 19 offensive guard in the nation and No. 1 offensive guard in the state of Washington, released a statement regarding his pledge to Washington.

“I’d like to thank all of the coaches who have recruited me and believed in me enough to offer me with the amazing opportunity to play football. I couldn’t do anything without my amazing coaches and family, as well as the teammates who have pushed me to be who I am. As of now, I’m closing my recruitment and will be committed to the University of Washington! Go Dawgs!”

At 6-foot-6, 302 pounds, Bainivalu is a highly intense, aggressive run blocker. He has experience playing offensive tackle, but he’ll most likely end up inside at guard on the next level.

His footwork is solid and improving. He’s versatile and mobile. He’ll be a great addition for the Huskies on their offensive line.

Bainivalu is the only offensive lineman in Washington’s 2017 recruiting class, and the only other lineman committed to the Huskies is 4-star prospect Marlon Tuipulotu, the No. 5 defensive tackle and No. 57 overall player in the country.
