4-Star JUCO DE Isaiah Buggs Commits To Alabama Crimson Tide

Four-star JUCO defensive end Isaiah Buggs committed to Alabama on Tuesday, giving the Crimson Tide 25 total commits in the 2017 recruiting class.

Alabama continues to add to its 2017 recruiting class.

Within the last 48 hours, the Crimson Tide secured affirmations from 5-star linebacker Dylan Moses, 5-star offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood and 4-star wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.

And on Tuesday morning, 4-star JUCO prospect Isaiah Buggs committed to Alabama, according to NOLA.com. The addition of Buggs gives the Crimson Tide’s No. 1-ranked recruiting class 25 total commits.

Buggs, from Ruston, Louisiana, ultimately chose Alabama over LSU, while thanking Ed Orgeron’s Tigers for offering him a scholarship.

“LSU, thank you for giving me the opportunity to play in my home state. This decision was hard to make, but I will pursue my degree and compete for a national championship with the Alabama Crimson Tide,” Buggs said. “I just want everyone to understand how hard this decision was to make. Without having a complete coaching staff ready to roll, my family and I made the decision to sign with Alabama. Thanks for supporting my decision. Geaux Tigers.”

Despite having grown up an LSU fan, Buggs is expected to enroll in Tuscaloosa on Jan. 8.

His decision to commit to Alabama comes on the heels of his official visit to T-Town this past weekend right before the recruiting dead period hit.

Buggs also held offers from Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M, among others.

At 6-foot-5, 290 pounds he’ll bring a great motor and will live in opposing teams’ backfields. A tackling machine, Buggs disengages from blocks well and wraps up when he meets ball carriers.
