4-Star WR James Robinson Says Florida Is Current Leader

Four-star wide receiver James Robinson says the Florida Gators are his current leader, but he’s not necessarily receiving mutual interest.

Uncommitted 4-star wide receiver James Robinson (Lakeland, Florida) is currently partaking in the Under Armour All-American Game festivities in Orlando, Florida. Shortly after arriving on Tuesday, Robinson discussed his current favorites and leader in an interview with Rivals.com.

Having grown up a Gators fan, Robinson has held Florida in high regard, but the return interest from UF has not been as strong at times.

That being said, it appears to be Florida’s race to lose if the Gators commit to Robinson.

“I gotta say Florida, it’s the home team and I’ve always been a Gator,” Robinson said.

He also noted that being an in-state recruit hasn’t garnered the same interest from Florida as the out-of-state prospects have received.

Robinson has plans to visit Gainesville, along with Alabama and Ole Miss, before National Signing Day. Also in the race is Oklahoma, whom he visited in the beginning of December.

As far as competition to land his commitment, “obviously Alabama” Robinson said in regards to the biggest threat to the Gators.

While he wants to check out the Crimson Tide and Rebels, he did state that there’s a “very good chance” he ends his recruitment during this Florida visit.

Robinson is ranked the nation’s No. 17 wide receiver and No. 118 overall prospect, and is listed at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds.
