Three-star defensive end Jordan Wright committed to Kentucky on Wednesday, giving the Wildcats 20 total commits in their 2017 recruiting class.
Mark Stoops has plucked a recruit out of the Sunshine State.
On Wednesday, 3-star prospect Jordan Wright, from Ford Lauderdale, Florida, committed to Kentucky despite holding offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Tennessee, USC and others.
Wright, the No. 40-ranked defensive end in the country and the No. 5 defensive end in the state of Florida, released a statement regarding his decision.
“First off, I’d like to thank God for all the opportunities he has blessed me with. i’d also like to thank my parents for believing in me and leading me in the right direction. [Thank you to] my family, friends, my bishop and church members and all the coaches who have supported me throughout my whole life. Thank you to all the coaches who have recruited me to play for their program. With that being said, I would like to announce my commitment to the University of Kentucky.”
With the addition of Wright, Stoops’ staff has now secured 20 total commits in the recruiting cycle. Kentucky now sits at No. 33 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings with 1,637 total points. Wright’s decision added 101 p0ints.
