4-Star DE Joshua Kaindoh Commits To FSU

Four-star defensive end Joshua Kaindoh committed to FSU on Friday evening, giving the Seminoles 16 total commitments in the 2017 recruiting class.

On Friday evening, while much of the country was scooping up last minute holiday gifts, Joshua Kaindoh delivered his own present to Jimbo Fisher: a commitment. The 4-star defensive end out of IMG Academy committed to FSU by offering up the following statement via social media.

“Thanks be to God, my family and friends for their continuous support throughout this difficult process, and to all the other Universities that gave me the opportunity further my education & playing career. Happy to announce my commitment to Florida State University and that I’ll be enrolling early for the Spring semester!!! [sic]”

Kaindoh was a former Maryland commit, but backed off his pledge in late November, thus opening the door for suitors in the run up to the dead period. His decommitment from the Terps came only three days after an official visit to Penn State, which made it look like James Franklin and the Big Ten champs had the inside track.

Alas, Jimbo Fisher and the Noles yet again showed the ability to pull a top-flight player out of IMG Academy, further reinforcing the notion that, at this moment in time, Florida State’s head coach controls recruiting in the Sunshine State with an iron grip.

Kaindoh, the nation’s No. 6 defensive end and No. 53 overall player, will now team up with Brian Burns to make one of the country’s most formidable, young rushing attacks off the edge. With the addition, FSU climbed five spots in the recruiting class rankings to No. 13 overall.
