4-Star DE Kayvon Thibodeaux Enjoyed LSU Visit

Four-star defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux took his first unofficial visit to LSU on Tuesday, as Ed Orgeron’s Tigers are trying to sell the Los Angeles native on making the move to Baton Rouge.

If 4-star athlete De’Gabriel Floyd had his way, his friend, 4-star defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, would end his recruitment and join Floyd with the hometown USC Trojans.

But it won’t be that easy for Floyd to convince the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Los Angeles native to stay close to home.

Thibodeaux, who has quickly become a highly-touted defensive end in the 2019 recruiting class, hit the road on Tuesday, making the trip from the west coast to Baton Rouge for an unofficial visit with the LSU Tigers.

And it appears Ed Orgeron made quite the impression on the young defensive end.

“He was really telling me about my opportunities and how I would develop and the tools I could use to become the best,” Thibodeaux told 247Sports of his conversation with Orgeron. “They all are so cool. We got to talk a lot about the defense and [how] I would make a good stand up defensive end or an outside linebacker.”

It will be extremely tough for the Tigers to pull Thibodeaux away from southern California, but LSU has put itself on the same level as UCLA and USC in terms of showing him the most love.

Many other top-tier programs will surely enhance their efforts as well.

Alabama, Cal, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington are only a few of the other schools that have offered Thibodeaux.

However, with the help of Floyd chirping in Thibodeaux’s ear, the Trojans remain the favorite to land the emerging edge rusher.
