Lamont Wade’s Tennessee Official Visit Is Set For The Alabama Game

Five-star cornerback Lamont Wade’s Tennessee official visit set up for Alabama game, as the nation’s No. 2 cornerback will be in Knoxville for the Third Saturday in October rivalry showdown.

It had been a long time since Neyland Stadium was as loud as it was when the Volunteers snapped their 11-game losing streak against Florida last month.

Now, following its first loss of the season to Texas A&M, Tennessee is looking to continue down the road of a potential SEC title game berth. So, don’t expect the fans to be any less rowdy or hyped when it hosts No. 1 Alabama in Knoxville this weekend.

Five-star recruit Lamont Wade isn’t expecting anything less than a high-tension, high-powered matchup between two SEC powers.

The nation’s No. 3 cornerback and No. 17 overall player in the 2017 recruiting class confirmed to Bleacher Report that he’ll be taking his first official visit to Tennessee to watch the Vols and Crimson Tide go at it.

“[The Volunteers] play Alabama, so I know how the environment’s going to be,” Wade said. “There will be a lot of people who are really rowdy. I’m looking forward to getting there and spending time with the coaches and players.”

The six-week plan of official visits may start in Knoxville, but no matter where the other stops are, it’s bound to end on Dec. 17 when Wade announces where he’ll be attending college.

The Clairton, Pennsylvania native is scheduled to spend three more of his five official visits at Penn State on Nov. 5 when the Nittany Lions host Iowa, at UCLA on Nov. 19 when the Bruins host USC, and at Pitt on Nov. 26 when the Panthers host Syracuse.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback is extremely athletic and can change direction on a dime. His backpedal is quick, and he can win one-on-one matchups at the line of scrimmage by jamming receivers.

He’d be a solid addition to any of the aforementioned programs and would add 297 recruiting points to whichever school he chooses come this December.
