LSU football recruiting update as of Dec. 28, 2015. The Tigers picked up a big-time playmaker at wide receiver and are targeting some more.
Never doubt Les Miles. That should just be engrained in all of our heads by now — so you would think.
LSU seemed poised to lose out on 4-star wide receiver Stephen Sullivan after he decommitted in August, and TCU seemed likely to reap the benefits as most projected Sullivan to choose the Horned Frogs. But after taking an official visit to Baton Rouge, La. two weeks ago, Sullivan woke up Saturday morning and announced he’d be a Tiger once again.
Sullivan is the third wide receiver in LSU’s 2016 class and the second 4-star of the trio, joining 4-star wideout Dee Anderson from DeSoto, Texas. The commitment bumped the Tigers into the No. 2 247Sports Composite class rankings, right in front of Michigan and behind Ohio State.
Now, the Tigers are hoping to add 4-star cornerback Kristian Fulton, from Metairie, La., to the mix. LSU has been favored to land the playmaking corner, but when he announced his January visits, a trip to Baton Rouge wasn’t officially scheduled yet.
Fulton is set to visit the Arkansas Razorbacks on Jan. 22 and the Florida Gators on Jan. 29. But he’s still deciding between LSU and Miami for his Jan. 15 visit. Although he elaborated by saying he was “definitely” taking a visit to LSU, but he didn’t know when. Texas A&M and Texas could also get visits.
Adding Fulton would be a huge get for the Tigers, who have maintained a strong reputation as having one of the nation’s best secondaries. Plus, it would give 5-star cornerback Saivion Smith a partner in crime to lock down the corners moving forward.
