Myles Garrett Injury Update: Texas A&M DE Will Play Against Tennessee

Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin says his star defender will play against Tennessee in a big SEC showdown. How much he plays, however, is to be determined.

Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett will play against No. 9 Tennessee on Saturday, but it’s unclear just how many snaps he is going to see.

Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin told ESPN on Saturday morning that he will play in the much-anticipated SEC showdown at Kyle Field, but it’s likely that he will be limited. Garrett, who did not practice on Friday, is recovering from a high ankle sprain and missed win over South Carolina. He suffered the injury on Sept. 24 against Arkansas.

Garrett has 11 tackles and three sacks for the No. 8 Aggies this season.

The amount of snaps Garrett gets will likely depend on how much and how effective he is able to move in pre-game warmups. No matter how much he plays, college football fans will be seeing arguably the two best pass rushers in the country on the same field in this Top 10 contest: Garrett and Tennessee’s Derek Barnett.

Since 2014, no active FBS defensive ends have more sacks than Garrett (27) and Barnett (24).
