Peach Bowl Prediction Roundtable – What’s Going To Happen

Peach Bowl prediction roundtable with the Campus Insiders staff. Breaking down what will happen between Alabama and Washington.

Robert Judin

You’ll all call me crazy, and it’s well deserved. But I’m going with Washington here. I mean, hey, if David were able to beat Goliath, why can’t the ball bounce the Huskies’ way against the Crimson Tide?

I think Jake Browning will neutralize Alabama’s defensive line by getting the ball out quickly and involving Myles Gaskin in the passing game. Gaskin will, in turn, also have his fair share of carries to get the running game going. But it will be the combination of Browning and John Ross that I think will hurt Bama the most. Jalen Hurts will have his worst game so far, and Washington will shock the world to advance to the national title game.

Dave Miller

Just behind Nick Saban and Urban Meyer in the head-coaching pecking order is Chris Petersen, whose Huskies have just one blemish on the season (a home setback to USC). What he did at Boise State was remarkable, and he is building a similar monster in Seattle. He will have his Huskies prepared for this big test and ready to play their best.

I expect a very competitive first half; however even U-Dub’s best won’t be enough. The Tide break out in the second half, aided by their dominant front seven that will eventually wear down the U-Dub front, and roll closer to another national title with a 17-point win.

Brian Stultz

I’m not sure what my colleague Robert Judin is drinking, but it must be awfully good and I’m going to ask him to share after work one of these days. Washington faces every obstacle in this one: an Alabama club that might be one of the best college football teams in the past 30 years, a cross-country trip to Atlanta, and a Georgia Dome that will be full of houndstooth-clad fans. Will we see another edition of Alabama-Michigan State from last season? It could very well be. Alabama rolls.

Jeff Bartl

I’ll join Brian in whatever Rob is consuming. I admire Rob for trying to gain an I-told-you-so moment that he can hold over all our heads for the rest of his life if Washington somehow pulls this one out. Yet when Alabama rolls through the Huskies, I can also see him shrugging his shoulders and saying something like, “Well hey it was a longshot so whatever,” to deflect this insane prediction of his.

Love ya, Rob, but you’re nuts. Hurts puts the hurt on U-Dub and Alabama coasts into the national title game.
