Projected Top 25 College Football Playoff Rankings

Projected top 25 College Football Playoff rankings prior to the fifth release from the CFP committee for the 2016 season.

The fifth batch of College Football Playoff rankings will be revealed on Tuesday night, and fans of Ohio State will get to see their team in one of the top four spots.

But are the Buckeyes in danger of being shut out of the CFP when all is said and done?

Urban Meyer’s squad was unable to get into the Big Ten title game because Penn State took care of business against Michigan State on Saturday afternoon, and the Nittany Lions beat the Buckeyes head to head earlier this season. Would the selection committee choose the Buckeyes in addition to the winner of the Wisconsin-Penn State game? Or is there just one spot available for the B1G?

Meanwhile, Alabama and Clemson held serve and will look to wrap up CFP berths next week in the SEC and ACC title games, respectively. The Crimson Tide dispatched of Auburn in the Iron Bowl, while the Tigers easily handled South Carolina in the Palmetto Bowl.

Out West, Washington will meet Colorado in the Pac-12 championship game on Friday night, with the winner having a great chance to get into the CFP.

Looking ahead to Tuesday’s release, here is a projection of how the committee will rank the top 25 teams in the country.
