SEC Football Standings – Week 10

SEC football standings for Week 10 of the season. The Florida Gators greatly improved their chances for a return to the SEC title game.

Well, the preseason picks for this season to finally be Tennessee’s season have been all but buried. The Volunteers fell to the South Carolina Gamecocks, 24-21, and they subsequently fell to third place in the SEC East.

That helped create a pretty comfortable lead for Jim McElwain’s Gators. They made the annual trip to Jacksonville to take on Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs, and it ended with a 24-10 win for Florida over its rival. Georgia was held to only 21 rushing yards and are now sitting at 4-4 in fourth place.

Kentucky trounced the Missouri Tigers, 35-21, and now the Wildcats sit in second place behind the Gators.

As far as the SEC West is concerned, Alabama is still on top after a bye week, but Auburn did take another step forward with its 40-29 win over Ole Miss. However, it’s Texas A&M who sits behind the Crimson Tide. The Aggies dropped a 52-10 win on New Mexico State.

Mississippi State took care of Samford, 56-41, but the Bulldogs are slightly ahead of their in-state rival for sixth place in the standings. LSU had a bye week as well, as the Tigers sit squarely in fourth place.
