Shaun Wade Confirms Alabama Visit For Auburn Game

Four-star cornerback Shaun Wade will use one of his official visits to visit Tuscaloosa for Alabama-Auburn.

In regards to official visits, of which high school recruits receive five, the Alabama Crimson Tide will get the last shot at highly-touted cornerback prospect Shaun Wade.

According to Chris Kirschner of SEC Country, Wade has confirmed that he will use his fifth and final official visit for a trip to Alabama during the Crimson Tide’s annual rivalry showdown with the Auburn Tigers.

Wade committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes in January 2015, but is still exploring his other options. Per Kirschner, he will make a final decision on the Buckeyes later this year.

The door is most definitely open for Alabama, but the coaching staff has some ground to make up in regards to their relationship with Wade.

“It’s ultimately about the relationships he has with the coaches,” Wade’s father told SEC Country. “I understand people are going to say (Alabama) is close, but I just think it’s crazy. His relationships with the Alabama staff is going to be what brings him over there and not just because he was born there.”

Wade is ranked as the nation’s No. 56 overall player and No. 4 cornerback. The Tide currently have two cornerback commits in the 2017 class – Kyriq McDonald and Jhavonte Dean – but neither are considered to be on the elite level of the four-star Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville, Florida) prospect.

Wade used an official visit for a trip to Notre Dame on Sept. 17. Between now and his Alabama trip, he’ll use official visits for Ohio State on Nov. 5 and Virginia Tech on Nov. 12.

His most recent visit was to Alabama for an unofficial in early October. He also checked out the Crimson Tide over the summer and last February for Alabama’s Junior Day.
