4-Star WR Tarik Black Commits To Michigan Wolverines

Four-star wide receiver Tarik Black committed to Michigan on Wednesday, giving the Wolverines 21 total commits in their 2017 recruiting class.

Less than an hour after Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines lost a commitment from 3-star running back A.J. Dillon to Boston College, they replaced his spot in the class with someone who can bolster the passing game.

Four-star prospect Tarik Black committed to Michigan on Wednesday, which now gives the Wolverines 21 total commits once again. The addition of Black gives Michigan 208 recruiting points, bringing its total to 3,523 points. The Wolverines remain at No. 6 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings but are now only 37 points behind No. 5 Texas A&M.

Black chose to commit to Harbaugh and his staff over Alabama, Auburn, Stanford and UCLA.

At 6-foot-4, 206 pounds Black has elite hands and can serve as a reliable target for any quarterback — especially because he’s a warrior when his routes take him across the middle of the field. He can create separation off the line of scrimmage with his ability to beat press coverage and uses his body well to keep himself in between the defender and the ball.

However, Black may not be the only elite pass catcher Michigan will have added by the weekend. Five-star prospect Donovan Peoples-Jones, the No. 4 wide receiver in the country, is set to announce his commitment on Thursday. In addition to the Wolverines, Peoples-Jones is deciding between Florida, Florida State, Michigan State and Ohio State. However, he’ll likely end up in maize and blue with Black.
