Playing Style

If you had to describe Taron Vincent with one word, it would be: unblockable. He rips through A-gaps and B-gaps with no regard for offensive linemen’s lives. He’s built to stop the run and can even supply an interior pass rush. He reacts well to screens and can track down the tailback before he hits full speed.

Florida State would be a great fit for Vincent. Sliding him down on the line next to Marvin Wilson would give the Seminoles an elite duo in the trenches, and they would wreak havoc on the ACC. Clemson could certainly implement him the way it did with Dexter Lawrence in 2016. Ohio State could also work wonders with Vincent.

What They’re Saying

“His explosion and quickness off the ball often gives him the upper-hand again offensive linemen, but must continue to develop his pass rushing skills and go-to moves moving forward. ” – Scout

Recruiting Overview

Being that Vincent is the son of former NFL cornerback Troy Vincent, you’d think Wisconsin would have a shot here. But the smart money is not on the Badgers. The two frontrunners are Florida State and Ohio State, with the Buckeyes holding the edge there. After the Buckeyes lost out on Marvin Wilson in the 2017 class, they can’t afford to lose another blue-chip defensive tackle to the Seminoles. Expect Urban Meyer’s staff to keep the full-court press on Vincent. Alabama and Clemson should keep tabs on him as well, but Ohio State is out in front.
