Tennessee Football Recruiting Update: Vols Land DL Brothers

Tennessee football landed a pair of commitments from brothers Breyon and Brandon Gaddy, two defensive linemen in the 2017 class.

Butch Jones is turning Volunteers football into a family affair — literally.

Breyon Gaddy and Brandon Gaddy committed to Tennessee on Tuesday. The Virginia Beach, Virginia natives became the Vols’ 19th and 20th commits of the 2017 cycle. Tennessee now sits at No. 9 in the class rankings with their pledges.

Breyon, a 4-star prospect, is ranked as the No. 29 defensive tackle in the nation while Brandon, a 3-star player, is the No. 54 defensive tackle.

The brothers simultaneously tweeted out an image of the two of them rocking Tennessee gear.

With the Gaddy brothers now on board, the Vols have five defensive linemen committed in the class. They join 4-star defensive tackle Eric Crosby, 3-star defensive tackle Kivon Bennett and 3-star defensive end Tre Lawson.

Like Breyon and Brandon, Crosby is also from Virginia Beach. He committed to the Vols on April 22. If all three stick with their commitments through National Signing Day on Feb. 1, they’ll be the first Tennessee signees out of Virginia since the 2015 class when the Vols picked up 3-star offensive tackle Chance Hall and 4-star defensive end Darrell Taylor

Jones has now landed 13 commits in the 2017 class in the last six weeks.
