Brenham, Texas recruit Marqez Bimage has decided to decommit from Houston, a school he pledged to in December of 2015.
Three-star linebacker Marqez Bimage has reopened his recruitment. According to a report from Horns247, Bimage has decommitted from the Houston Cougars. His decision comes on the heels of a handful of offers, including one from Texas and new head coach Tom Herman, formerly of Houston, on Dec. 11.
With his previous recruitment by Herman’s Cougars staff, it’s believed that the Longhorns are now in the driver’s seat now to land the 6-foot-3, 230 pound outside linebacker. Former Houston defensive coordinator Todd Orlando has also been hired in the same capacity with Texas.
Horns247 reports that he’ll visit Texas on Jan. 20, just over two weeks prior to National Signing Day.
Shortly after the news of his commitment, Texas commit Sam Ehlinger hinted at positive recruiting news for the Longhorns, which Bimage retweeted.

Other Longhorn commits have also been active on social media regarding positive movement with regards to recruiting. In addition to Bimage, four-star 2018 prospect Jordan Moore is set to announce his decision on Saturday afternoon, and the Longhorns are firmly in the running to land the No. 4 athlete.
Bimage is rated a 3-star prospect and ranked as the nation’s No. 43 outside linebacker and No. 8 at his position in the state of Texas.
