Five-Star OT Trey Smith’s Commitment Details Revealed

Five-star recruit Trey Smith’s commitment details were revealed on Monday.

The nation’s No. 4 offensive tackle is set to reveal his college decision, and he’ll do so live on Tuesday.

According to Derek Tyson, Trey Smith (Jackson, Tennessee) will announce his commitment at 4:00 p.m. ET on ESPN during “College Football Live.”

Smith trimmed his list of top schools down in October to Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Tennessee. Of the six candidates, the Crimson Tide, Buckeyes and Volunteers are considered to be pacing the field.

“To me, the main factor is life after football,” Smith said in an interview when discussing his top schools in October. “There are lots of opportunities that come after playing the sport. I want to see what the school can do for me and the opportunities it can provide.”

Smith received a visit from Alabama on Monday, and officially visited Tennessee on December 2.

In addition to his trip to Knoxville, he also used official visits to check out Ole Miss (Oct. 29), Alabama (Nov. 12) and Ohio State (Nov. 26).

Smith is listed at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, and is ranked as the nation’s No. 22 overall player and No. 1 offensive tackle in the state of Tennessee.
