UGA vs. Tennessee Prediction Roundtable – What’s Going To Happen

UGA vs. Tennessee prediction roundtable with the Campus Insiders staff. Breaking down what will happen in Saturday’s SEC East tilt Between the Hedges.

If  Nick Chubb was healthy, I’d pick Georgia in a heartbeat, especially considering this game is in Athens. But with Chubb being out combined with how the Bulldogs looked last week against Ole Miss, I’m going to pencil in Tennessee. Granted, the Vols were awful for a half against Florida before turning it on late, but that’s still better than looking as listless as Georgia for an entire game. Tennessee keeps itself in control of the SEC East with a close victory.

With no logic behind it whatsoever, I think UGA wins this one. Tennessee looked amazing in the second half against Florida, while Georgia was little more than Dawg s–t against Ole Miss – and Nick Chubb isn’t even going to play. However, Ole Miss is probably the best two-loss team in the nation, and Tennessee’s onslaught was aided heavily by Florida’s brain farts and terrible play-calling. Georgia pulls out a close one at home and throws the SEC East race into bedlam.

No Nick Chubb, no problem. I’m rolling with Georgia. I’ve seen Jacob Eason do some special things with the football. This will be the game where we look back at and say, “Damn, he grew up right there.” A young, true freshman quarterback going up against the favorite to win the SEC East. Joshua Dobbs will play well, but Eason is going to orchestrate the offense like a veteran and lead Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs to a win.

I am sticking with my preseason prediction of Georgia winning the SEC East, as I envisioned a loss to Ole Miss last week. The problem is that I didn’t think the Bulldogs would get pounded so badly by the Rebels. I think this week we’ll see Kirby Smart’s squad run–and run some more–to protect quarterback Jacob Eason. And that defense will put forth a much better effort. The Vols come out flat, and the ‘Dawgs bounce back with a win to make the SEC East race very interesting.

No Nick Chubb, no hope for Georgia. Sure, I picked them to win in my preview, but that was before news that Chubb would not be playing. Joshua Dobbs and the Volunteers could definitely have a letdown following the Florida win, but they will find a way to win this one. Rocky Top over The Hedges.
