Everything you need to know about the UNLV vs. Hawaii online live stream, as well as prediction and game notes.

The UNLV Rebels will welcome the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors to the mainland Saturday for a Mountain West matchup.

The Rebels (2-6, 1-3 MW) come into this one losers of three straight games, including last week’s 55-27 defeat by the Boise State Broncos. The game was actually closer than the final score indicated, as UNLV was with seven after three quarters, but Boise State went off for 28 fourth-quarter points to earn the win. Blake Decker (29-of-50, 357 yards) returned to action for the Rebels, and showed some rust tossing a couple of interceptions, but he continued to sling it to keep UNLV in the game. His 357 yards marked the fifth 300-yard passing game of his career and moved him into ninth place on UNLV’s career passing list with 3,895 yards. Decker didn’t receive any help from a running game that was stifled by the nation’s fifth-best run defense as Boise State held UNLV to 100 yards on the ground. Xzaviar Campbell was the top rusher for the Rebels, only getting nine carries for 29 yards and a touchdown.

The Rainbow Warriors (2-7, 0-5 MW) are also sliding, having lost five straight and are still looking for their first conference win of the season. They will have to do so without head coach Norm Chow, who was fired earlier this week following last week’s 58-7 blowout loss to Air Force — the worst home loss in school history. The Rainbow Warriors were steamrolled by the Falcons triple option rushing attack, allowing 496 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns. Hawaii rushed for -2 yards (its lowest since 2009) on 12 carries. Keelan Ewaliko provided the only score of the game for Hawaii, a 98-yard kickoff return late in the fourth quarter to avoid the shutout.

UNLV and Hawaii will renew their rivalry for the 25th time on Saturday, with the Rainbow Warriors leading the all-time series 15-9. However, the Rebels have had the recent success taking six of the last 11 matchups.

Prediction

New head coach Tony Sanchez has UNLV playing with more confidence and enthusiasm in 2015. But Nevada has been in the Rebels’ heads over the past 10 years. And as long as the Pack can run the ball and consistently win at the line of scrimmage, the Fremont Cannon will remain in Reno.

Game Notes

  • UNLV’s defense has 10 interceptions after eight games, which have come courtesy of nine different players. That’s three more INTs than all of last season and just one less than the 2013 UNLV bowl team had in 13 games.
  • Over the past three games, Hawaii freshman receiver Dylan Collie has caught 15 passes for 179 yards receiving.
  • UNLV and Florida State are tied for first in the nation with just one fumble lost this season, which for the Rebels came way back in Game Two vs. UCLA.
