Urban Meyer Pens Email To Ohio State Students For Nebraska Showing

Urban Meyer penned a thank you email to Ohio State students for their effort in helping secure the huge win over Nebraska, as well as their classy gesture to injured Cornhuskers quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr.

Ohio Stadium rose to the occasion last Saturday night when then-No. 10 Nebraska came to town. In front of a raucous home crowd, the Buckeyes handed the Cornhuskers a humbling, 62-3 loss.

Because home field advantage most definitely exists, Urban Meyer penned a thoughtful email to the Ohio State student body thanking them for doing their part in helping Ohio State secure the huge win, as well as showing their support for opposing quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. when he had to be carted off the field during the game.

Below is the note Meyer sent (via Eleven Warriors).

To the best students in the land,

I am writing today to thank you for the electric and awesome atmosphere that was generated by you in Ohio Stadium on Saturday night. This was such a big game for this year’s team and we really needed to see, feel and hear the support of you students. And we did! When we needed you students the most, you gave us your very best effort, and I simply cannot thank you all enough for helping to make Saturday in the Horseshoe a truly awesome game and experience.

Also: your sincere applause and heartfelt cheers for injured Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong were very classy responses that did not go unnoticed by our staff or the millions watching the game. Well done!

On behalf of the coaching staff and players, Thank You! And we’ll see you in three weeks.

Coach Meyer

With the win, Ohio State improved to 8-1 on the season and still controls its own destiny for the Big Ten title game and, likely, the College Football Playoff. Ohio State’s next home game will be the regular season finale, The Game, against rival Michigan.
