2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl: Players To Watch

The 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl is filled with talented recruits; here are some high-profile players to watch.

It’s finally time for the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, and that means we get a sneak peak at the future of college football.

Last year, we saw big names like Dexter Lawrence, Jacob Eason and Shea Patterson participate in the game. In years past, we’ve drooled over participants like Andrew Luck, C.J Spiller, Odell Beckham Jr. and plenty others.

This year’s batch of recruits is just as promising, and here are a few names to keep an eye on during the Army game.

5-Star RB Cam Akers

Now that Dalvin Cook is moving on to the NFL, Florida State needs to find a new bell cow. Zaquandre White and Khalan Laborn will get their fair share of touches, but Akers is clearly the most talented tailback headed to Tallahassee right now. And as exciting as it is to watch Najee Harris run (more on him later), Akers is a 1-b to his 1-a in this game.

5-Star QB Jake Fomm

Eason got all the love last year, and now it’s time for UGA’s next highly-skilled quarterback, Jake Fromm. Whenever Eason decides his time at Georgia is over, Fromm will step in and keep the Bulldogs hitting on all cylinders. He has a ton of arm strength and all the intangibles you want in a quarterback.

5-Star RB Najee Harris

Clearly, there is a lot of hoopla surrounding the nation’s No. 1 overall player, but it isn’t unwarranted. Najee Harris is a game-changing running back, and whether it’s Alabama or Michigan, he’s going to do big things on the collegiate level. He works hard and is dedicated to his craft. Keep an eye on him during this game because he’ll break a few runs.

4-Star S Bubba Bolden

To me, he’s the best all-around safety in this class. Bubba Bolden can do it all. He can lay the wood if you wander across the middle. He tracks the ball well and has a nose for the end zone once he does flip the field. A highly intelligent safety, Bolden is built to play right away.

4-Star S Richard LeCounte

Richard LeCounte made headlines on Tuesday when he pressed 5-star wide receiver DeVonta Smith off the line of scrimmage, pushed him to the sideline and over a bench. The Georgia commit is a “Dawg” in the truest sense — much to the delight of Bulldog fans everywhere. He’s an instant-impact defender and will make quarterbacks think twice before testing him.
