Washington vs. Colorado: 4 Bold Predictions For Pac-12 Championship Game

Four bold Washington vs. Colorado predictions from the Campus Insiders team for Friday’s Pac-12 Championship Game between the Huskies and Buffaloes.

Jonathan Bass

The total score goes under (the O/U is set at 58.5). In a conference known for potent offenses and flush with some of the nation’s top quarterbacks, these are two of the nation’s best scoring defenses. The Pac-12 Championship Game has a lower total score than the Big Ten title game the following day.

Dave Miller

Huskies star wide receivers John Ross and Dante Pettis have combined for 30 touchdown catches on the year, but this is a Buffaloes secondary that is allowing the third-fewest yards per pass attempt (5.4) in FBS. Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie and this secondary will humble the Huskies passing attack a bit, so quarterback Jake Browning will have a bit of a pedestrian game. That means U-Dub’s ground game must be efficient and prolific if Chris Petersen and Co. want to get to the CFP.

Robert Judin

Colorado has had a hell of a season. Seriously, kudos to Mike MacIntyre and the job he has done with the Buffaloes. Sefo Liufau has played extremely well and stepped up as a leader for that team. But Colorado is not going to beat Washington. I actually picked Wazzu to beat the Huskies last weekend because I thought the Cougars were trending upward while Washington was wavering. That was a mistake. I love everything about Jake Browning’s game. He has a connection with John Ross and Dante Pettis. Plus, Myles Gaskin will balance out the offense for the Huskies. Liufau will keep the Buffaloes around, but Washington is winning this game and will get into the College Football Playoff with a Pac-12 title on its resume. However, when it comes to my bold prediction, I’m going to say Browning throws for 500 yards against the nation’s No. 20 passing defense.

Brian Stultz

Washington will hold Colorado, a team that average 34.8 points per game, under 10 points with a smothering defensive effort that will make former head coach Don James happy.
