4-Star LB Will Ignont Commits To Tennessee Volunteers

Four-star inside linebacker Will Ignont committed to the Tennessee Volunteers on Wednesday night.

Butch Jones has reeled in another one.

On Wednesday night, 4-star prospect Will Ignont chose to end his recruitment by committing to Tennessee, giving the Volunteers 25 total commits in the cycle. His pledge added 208 recruiting points to Tennessee’s total, bringing it to 3,096 points. The Vols moved past the Georgia Bulldogs and now sit at No. 6 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings.

Ignont, who’s ranked as the No. 12 inside linebacker in the country and the No. 3 inside linebacker in the state of Alabama (New Market), released a statement regarding his decision.

“[I’m] beyond blessed to announce that I am committing to play at the University of Tennessee. God is good. I thank my mom for everything because without her, none of this would have been possible. I’m excited to strap up and play for Coach Jones and ready to learn from Coach Thigpen. Most importantly, [I’m excited] to be  a part of something special … Vol for life.”

At 6-foot-2, 232 lbs Ignont is tremendously athletic and plays hungry when guarding against the run. He has the size to play right away for Tennessee, and when he hits, he hits hard enough to make the ball carrier think twice about turning upfield to the second level.

Ignont chose the Vols while holding additional offers from Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, UCLA and others.
